YOUNG CHILDREN'S DANCE
TINY TOTS (3 YR. OLD)
Our youngest students are taught self-expressive songs and dances to encourage creative movement. Also, fitness fun mat exercises and tricks for flexibility and coordination.
PRE-SCHOOL (4 YR. OLD)
Similar to the Tiny Tot classes but taught on a more advanced level. Introduction to Tap in second half of year.
BALLET-TAP COMBINATION I AND II (5-6-7 YR. OLDS)
An introduction to basic tap fundamentals and technique along with a more disciplined approach and emphasis to ballet.
TAP-JAZZ COMBINATION (7-8 YR. OLDS)
Further emphasis and understanding of tap, as well as an introduction to jazz. Previous tap training is required.
ACROBATICS
Students are taught basic tumbling and tricks. Our approach is based on the individual ability of each student. (Must be at least 7 yrs. old).
TAP
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Tap Classes are available to all students 8 years of age and older.
JAZZ
A contemporary dance form combining Broadway and Video movement using body isolation and alignment. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Age 8 and older.
BALLET
The basis of all dance movement
PRE-BALLET (7-10 YEARS OLD)
Further emphasis on the development of good posture, poise and imagination are taught, as well as providing a strong foundation for more advanced levels. (Two classes a week are required for 11 years of age and older).
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BALLET
For the more serious student. More intense training including barre, adage and basic pointe. Students should enroll in two or more classes of ballet a week.
POINTE
The technique of performing all ballet movement on toe. Students must be 11 years of age, have had at least 4 years of Ballet after the age of 7 and be of Intermediate level. A firm understanding of ballet technique is necessary and at least two ballet classes a week are required. Students will be screened by the Studio Staff.
MODERN DANCE
A dance form which expresses an inner creativity with the use of space, levels and various rhythms.
LYRICAL
A combination of Ballet and Jazz technique demonstrating and emphasizing expression and feeling.
IRISH STEP
A Folkloric dance form combining tap and ballet movement. (Another tap class once a week is required along with this).
All students are placed by the Studio Staff according to their ability. This allows for proper artistic development of the body and mind with increased satisfaction and less frustration.
TUITION
A Registration fee of $17.00 is required per student upon enrolling. ($22.00 after Last Call registration). TUITION MUST BE PAID promptly by the first lesson of each month, payable at class time or mailed to the Studio. Students may pay monthly, quarterly or yearly. Tuition and Registration is non-refundable. Registration of the student constitutes an acceptance of these terms. (A 7% discount is offered to those paying yearly tuition by September 30th.)
***A $10.00 late fee will be charged for any tuition that has not been paid by the first lesson of each month, and will double if not paid by the beginning of the following month. Any child whose tuition is 1 month overdue will not be permitted to take class until tuition is paid to date.
TUITION PAYMENTS
Tuition For 1-hour Classes Only:
- One class each week for the month $45.00
- Two classes each week for the month $65.00
- Three classes each week for the month $85.00
- Four classes each week for the month $95.00
Tuition for Special Classes (may not be combined with above discounts):
- 1/2-hour class each week for the month $22.50
- 45-minute class each week for the month $33.75
- 1 1/4-hour class each week for the month $ 56.25
- 1 1/2-hour class each week for the month $67.50
All students enrolled in a Pointe class must also be enrolled in a Ballet class.
REQUIRED DANCEWEAR
The studio has a wide selection of quality dance merchandise for sale. Our staff will personally assist you to insure the proper fit. Stop by frequently to see our latest merchandise.
Tiny tots, Pre-school and Ballet-Tap Combination students must wear solid black leotards, pink tights and pink slippers. Leg warmers are required for all ballet classes.
Tap and Jazz students wear any color leotard and tights, tap shoes and jazz shoes.
Ballet students must wear black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers and pink legwarmers. Ballet skirt may be worn. All hair must be pulled back in a bun or French braid.
Acrobatics - Acrobatic slipper and any color leotard and tights. No shirts of any size or style. hair must be pulled back.
Boys wear jazz pants and white T-shirts.
Baggy shirts, sneakers, long earrings, bracelets and chewing gum are not permitted in class!
POLICIES AND REGULATIONS
Promptness and regular attendance is expected. All students must check in at the desk and enter class on time. Students are enrolled for a full term: September through June. Please be sure to notify the studio of all absences. Studio closings due to severe weather conditions or religious instruction can be made up and will not affect Perfect Attendance. In the event of a snow storm, listen to WJRZ (100.1 FM) or call the studio to see if we are open.
Trophies are given to students after five consecutive years and each consecutive year thereafter. A Medal will be awarded after four consecutive years. Students must participate in their scheduled recital show(s). Perfect Attendance Plaques will be given to students who never missed a scheduled class. (This does not include make up classes.) All other students will be given a Certificate of Attendance. Awards are given out the week after our recital.
All students must have the required outfit and footwear for classes. Hair must be in a bun or French braid for Ballet and Acrobatics and pulled away from the face for all other classes. All articles of clothing, shoes, etc., must have student's name on them.
The studio is not responsible for injuries or lost or stolen articles.
We reserve the right to cancel a class of less than ten students.
Choreography or dances taught by this school are the property of the studio.
REFUNDS
There are no refunds or credits given for registration, tuition, costume deposits, balances, dance accessories and tickets. In order to withdraw from the studio, a physician's note is required proving that the student is physically unable to continue class. The studio must be notified in writing 30 days in advance. If a student withdraws for any reason, even on the 15th of the month, the student will still be charged for the full month.
SHOW INFORMATION
A year-end show is presented, usually held in June. Students are not required to participate, but are urged to notify the studio by December 1st if they are not going to perform.
A Costume Deposit (non-refundable) is due by November 1st. (Weekly payments are accepted.) Costume balances must be paid by March 1st.
Tuition must be paid to date prior to receiving your childs costume.
